Croatia travel diary | 48 hours in Dubrovnik

Two months ago I went to Dubrovnik in Croatia with a friend from work. We both flew standby from Rotterdam to Dubrovnik in the evening. Although we would have less than 48 hours in Croatia, I expected to be able to do everything easily in a small town like this. I was hoping to feel the same vibe as in Split two years ago in this place. I honestly thought Split was one of my best ‘city trips’ in a long time. To tell you in advance – Croatia is now a euro country, so keep in mind that partly because of this and in any case in recent years, prices have risen enormously and it is no longer cheap. We only found out about this during the trip itself, because I thought I could eat, drink and move around just fine with about 40-50 euros per day.. since I am not someone who – apart from a collab – wants/needs a 3 cours dinner every day.

Thailand travel diary | Solo trip to Bangkok part 1

A few weeks ago I went on a trip to Bangkok. I felt strongly that this was going to be an amazing trip. Originally, I would go on a 6-7 day trip with my best friend Roos, who lives in Abu Dhabi – but this felt too short for me. In 3 years time, I have seen Roos in real life for 4 hours – which was in Dubai last April by ‘sort of’ coincidence. From her departure station Abu Dhabi, it is about 6 hours flying time and from Amsterdam 12 hours straight. Because of the longer distance, I wanted to stay for more days than that anyway. Due to the 2 hour delay on my working flight, I would no longer be able to catch the KLM flight in the evening directly to BKK. I decided to fly to Dubai with Emirates. [Lees meer…]

Morocco travel diary | 7 day trip invite to Marrakech

Marrakech had been on my list for a long time and I really wanted to visit it this year. I often fly there with my airline, but we hardly ever stay anywhere – which counts for almost all destinations we fly to. The stories of passengers and people I know for many years about Marrakech inspired me to go there. Last May, I was spontaneously allowed to go to Marrakech thanks to a friend to ‘support’ her friends who work at Nobu. My good friend Joelle and a friend of hers had arranged this for me, so I would fly in from the Netherlands to meet up with them. Super cool to get this opportunity! During this trip the opening of Nobu Marrakech would take place and a lot of events, so I could be there. Outfit | Amsterdam

Hi everyone! In between all the travel posts, a new outfit post. This time again in the Netherlands! These photos were taken in Amsterdam, I had my Turkish aunt visiting with her best friend, and they wanted to discover Amsterdam with me. It’s been 4 years since I visited her in Istanbul! So it was nice to see them both again. For those who didn’t know, I am 1/4th Turkish on my father’s side and 3/4th Dutch.

Hi everyone! After many travel posts finally another outfit post at my trusted place in my hometown. Jeremy, my regular photographer and good friend has been busy so I haven’t been able to shoot many outfits unfortunately. This super cool outfit was sponsored by Meahdore. A Dutch brand new webshop with classy clothing. I really liked this set, and I also wanted to have it. I can also combine the pants with many things. I thought this outfit was perfect for Croatia. I bought this super cute dress in the sale at Lof Boutique. I’m wearing a size S and I’m really sold! This outfit would be even cooler with a nice pair of red heels, but I refuse to do an entire city walk in stiletto heels from now on. That is also why I often go for block heels during my travels. This way you still wear heels, but comfortably and so that you don’t die of pain at the end of the day. [Lees meer…]

At the beginning of this month, I had my dear cousin’s wedding and his now wife. What a beautiful day! I am so very proud of those two and it was nice to be there with my precious family. Now I have to admit that I have never been to a real wedding in my adult life! My dream is to get married myself one day and I often work as a bridal model, so it is very nice to experience it in real life! Because of the nice reactions to this look, I decided to create an outfit post of this as well! I bought this dress when I was still participating in Miss Netherlands (for Miss World) 2021. I wore it there when I was a judge during the casting while I was still a finalist myself. The dress code was pastel for the wedding, so I pulled this one out again! [Lees meer…]

Mexico travel diary (extra long) | 3th solo trip to Tulum

Welcome to my part 2 of my personal travel diary! A little sidenote is that there are a lot more pictures of myself in this post than usual, because I didn’t create outfit posts of all outfits here and decided to combine it in this upload. If you haven’t read part one, you can click here: part one. The last 8 days of this trip I would spend in my favorite place for the 3th time; Tulum. I have to tell you that I was a bit afraid that it would get quite hard because of my personal reason, more hard than the last few days in Mexico. My goal was once again to go right through it to celebrate the love for this place and the wonderful memories I have of this special place. Mexico travel diary | Back to Mexico solo – Mexico city & Puerto Escondido

Today, my journey started with luckily getting a seat at the gate on the flight to Mexico City (CDMX). I was really looking forward to visiting this destination and secretly looking forward to it even more than going back to Japan. I have quite a love for Mexico, so I love to go back often. It was with a double feeling, because of my situation in November. I wanted to move between the pain of a circumstance and the love of this place. The best way to get out of something is to go straight through and into it. I decided to take the bull by its horns, because I don’t want to let something win against me if it can cost or affect me something very beautiful. Last November I already did that with all the strength I had in me. And this journey made me realize how strong and courageous I was last fall, and how that same money goes back for now.
