The place where I am in the photos is EDITION, a cocktail bar in a luxury hotel in Tokyo. Together with a friend who lives in Japan β Anita, I went to have a cocktail with her at this place. I really wanted to go to a rooftop bar in Japan this time, so she took me to this place. I have no cooperation with the brand of my dresses. I buy from here regularly β especially during sales, or even through Vinted. The back of this dress has a very nice open back with a bow, and I bought it especially for my 3rd Japan trip. Lavish Alice is one of my favorite brands and sells dresses with unique designs and beautiful colors. A lot of new travel posts will be online soon. [Read more…]
Hi everyone! I literally posted this blog post from Tokyo! I am currently here for the 3rd time on holiday (solo). I got this beautiful neon dress from my sister. It fits really small, so I wear an L with my size 36. The place where I am here is Roppongi Hills β Tokyo cityview. This viewpoint was still on my list, so I visited this place with a friend who lives in Japan. Entrance to this place, including the open platform, costs 2500 yen. These photos are also from today. I am very happy that Japan’s borders have been open again since a few months, so I decided to go back to Tokyo for 9 days during my 5 weeks of part-time and vacation. At the moment, I still have 3 days to go before I am back in the Netherlands. [Read more…]
I cropped this last part of my 14 day trip into one post as I haven’t taken many photos in the last few days there. This is day 9 to 14. One of the last days I heard from a KLM flight attendant that my standby travel flight was as good as full, so I booked an extra night in my hostel in Tokyo and converted the KLM IPB flight to a new one day later. This day I went to Kyoto again from Osaka, this time with Yuka. Osaka and Kyoto are not long apart by public transport, I believe half an hour, so no other hostel was needed. Yuka and I have known each other since 2013 and have seen each other in the Netherlands and last year in Japan as well. [Read more…]
In November, I went to Japan for 14 days. Just like I did in 2018, I went solo. I had booked the direct KLM flights via crew standby travel. After a flight of 10.5 hours in total, I left to the city the same way as last year, with the Narita express – a direct train connection to central Tokyo at Narita Airport station. The price of a return trip is 4000 yen (around 28 euros) – For the standby/crew members among us, you can also use the return ticket for another day, in case your plans change within 14 days. The place where I am standing here is called Dotonbori. This place is known for the large “Glico Man” that you can see behind me. This is probably also the most touristic photo spot of Osaka, haha. Together with Yuka and her mother, I started exploring Osaka about halfway through my 14-day Japan trip this year. [Read more…]
Hi everyone! Japan was really a wonderful solo trip. I experienced so many great things, got wonderful new memories and met many people. I will place a lot of travel diaries from my last 3 trips soon. Where I stand here is on a high viewpoint in Shibuya. I am really happy with how the pictures have turned out. These photos were taken by Anita, with whom I went to have lunch this day. [Read more…]
This is a bonus outfit post from my trip to Japan. Although I said that I would not upload this outfit anymore (exept in the actual posts about the trip), I decided to upload this too cute dress anyways. This cute dress has traveled half the world. I wore it both in Valencia and in Tokyo (even though it was not even 2 weeks later). My travel outfits often consist of the combination sneakers-watch-dress-bag, and I often repeat that as you can see in other posts. This location is actually literally next to my hostel in Shibuya. Still shot this one anyways while I had a jetlag face, haha. [Read more…]
During my last days in Japan I did not take many pictures. I had done almost everything I wanted to do. The 7th day of my Tokyo trip, my new Swedish and French travel friends suggested to join them to go running around 6 in the morning. I was quite tired, so I refused and went to Tokyo tower later, because I wanted to see it up close. It was nice and sunny, so I walked through Tokyo with a happy and satisfied feeling. [Read more…]
If you haven’t checked out day 3 and 4 yet, you can click this link: Part 2. Day 5 I really wanted to see the view of Tokyo. Once I sat down at the coffee bar of my hostel at the beginning of the afternoon, I got to know a new solo traveler named Hana (which I eventually hung out with a lot during this trip, and joined me to Shinjuku.
