Turkey travel diary | 4 day family visit in Istanbul

Hi everyone! In July I visited my youngest aunt in Istanbul for about 4 days. As some of you may not know, I am 75% Dutch and 25% Turkish from my father’s side. Unfortunately I don’t speak the language, but we always try to find our way with some German or Google Translate. A large part of my family (my father’s side) is Turkish (originally from the Trabzon – Black Sea region, back in the bloodline probably Russian descendants which is quite visible in the appearance within our family) and live in Turkey and Germany. During the trip I didn’t spend a lot of time creating content, and anyway I have always been very conscious in creating content. Sometimes I see friends/others who are so obsessed with creating content or deeply forcing certain photos/content that the entire trip passes them by, it takes up hours and also removes all attention from being in the now. Everyone has their own thing of course, but I think it is a shame when so much time and consciousness is lost in this way. That’s why I only posted everything from this trip afterwards. [Lees meer…]

Canada travel diary | 8 day solo & family trip in and around Toronto

Hi everyone! It’s time for a new travel diary. A few weeks ago, I travelled to Canada – a country high on my wish list. I wanted to visit the beautiful nature, lakes and hiking areas, but the reason for my visit this time was for something else. I have family living in Canada who come to the Netherlands every 2-3 years, and by now a lot of travel friends in and around Toronto and other places in Canada. Enough reasons to visit the country! I only planned a short visit, so I would spend 4 nights with my family, and 4 in Toronto. I will definitely tell more about this adventure in this travel diary. Hi everyone! I haven’t made any content for a long time due to circumstances, but slowly there is some light at the end of the tunnel! My body shape changed this year, so I try to get the old one back and adapt to it right now. My best friend Jeremy took pictures again that I really needed to feel better about myself. I received this beautiful dress from The Pretty Dress Company, who I often work with. I love old money and classy styling, so this dress fits perfectly in my wardrobe. Luckily she lives close to me – in Eindhoven, so it was only a relatively short drive from Den Bosch. She also took these fun pictures at the place where we had lunch!

Hi everyone! This part of my travel diary is extra long, because it contains my entire extensive return journey, but also a lot of photos, because Ubud was the place where I planned most activities and wanted to take photos. What really appeals to me about Ubud, is also the fact that in my experience it is more the ‘authentic’ Bali, without beach and sea – but many rice fields, nature and waterfalls. Indonesia travel diary | 3 week solo trip to Bali – part 2 (Uluwatu)

After an incredibly long Grab ride of over 3 hours for just 38 kilometers – yes, Bali traffic is truly no joke – I finally arrived in Uluwatu late in the afternoon. I had booked Karma Backpackers hostel, one of the few options here. It immediately struck me that everything here is a bit more expensive than in Canggu: food, drinks, and even parties. Although it’s still cheaper than in the Netherlands, budgeting is a tiny bit more necessary here. Uluwatu is known for its beautiful beaches, luxury beach clubs, and relaxed atmosphere. [Lees meer…]

Hoi allemaal! Weer een nieuwe outfit van mijn bezoek aan Brussel afgelopen maand om mijn Emirates vriendin Demi te bezoeken. In deze outfit voel ik mij superkrachtig! Ik droeg deze jumpsuit voor het eerst tijdens een werkfeestje vorig jaar, en wilde hem al bijna een jaar lang op de foto zetten. Helaas heb ik niet heel veel kansen gehad om het op een leuke, toepasselijke plek vast te leggen of te dragen.
