Solo Travel diary | 5 day May solo trip to Dubai

Hi everyone. I made a very ‘special’ blog post about my Dubai trip at the beginning of May. I want to say in advance that this is a journey in corona time, so you can certainly have an opinion about this. But published negative opinions are not welcome on my platform. Nor do I mean to ‘motivate’ people with this to travel to a risk area and not to stick to the ‘urgent advice’. And, I would like to mention here, that traveling to (orange areas) is discouraged, but not prohibited. (Holiday to an orange area is therefore not prohibited, and the quarantine is not mandatory either) And I have been tested both there and back (3x in total). I have to tell you that this was a pretty pricey trip, because of the very expensive corona tests. The shared apartment, the crew airline tickets (IPB) and everything around it were not even that expensive.

Hi everyone! A little over a month ago I went on holiday to Dubai. It’s been quiet on my website for a while, but I’m really busy with fun things, especially the preparations for the Miss World Netherlands final on June 30th. I did a shoot with a very sweet KLM flight attendant last week, and there are 2 dress shoots on the schedule, in addition to blog shoots. This fantastic place is Penthouse Dubai, at Five the Palm. I went out for dinner and cocktails here at the time. An extensive Dubai diary with tips is coming! But this comes after the final of Miss World Netherlands. This fantastic suit has a hidden short in it by the way. I think the color is really beautiful. It has a satin look, which can be clearly seen in the photos, but less in reality. [Lees meer…]

Hi everyone, I just got back from Dubai for a while. After my work layover last year, I really wanted to go back. I have a 2.5 week vacation, and decided to go to Dubai for about 4,5 days. Two friends, including one that I would visit there, canceled last minute. I decided to go anyway, because I could stay with an former colleague in her airbnb, and she was also solo for part of her trip. It has been really fun! And I am happy to travel again after 7 months. Japan travel diary | 2019 Solo trip to Japan part 3

I cropped this last part of my 14 day trip into one post as I haven’t taken many photos in the last few days there. This is day 9 to 14. One of the last days I heard from a KLM flight attendant that my standby travel flight was as good as full, so I booked an extra night in my hostel in Tokyo and converted the KLM IPB flight to a new one day later. This day I went to Kyoto again from Osaka, this time with Yuka. Osaka and Kyoto are not long apart by public transport, I believe half an hour, so no other hostel was needed. Yuka and I have known each other since 2013 and have seen each other in the Netherlands and last year in Japan as well. [Lees meer…]

Japan travel diary | 2019 Solo trip to Japan part 1

In November, I went to Japan for 14 days. Just like I did in 2018, I went solo. I had booked the direct KLM flights via crew standby travel. After a flight of 10.5 hours in total, I left to the city the same way as last year, with the Narita express – a direct train connection to central Tokyo at Narita Airport station. The price of a return trip is 4000 yen (around 28 euros) – For the standby/crew members among us, you can also use the return ticket for another day, in case your plans change within 14 days. Hi everyone! Japan was really a wonderful solo trip. I experienced so many great things, got wonderful new memories and met many people. I will place a lot of travel diaries from my last 3 trips soon. Where I stand here is on a high viewpoint in Shibuya. I am really happy with how the pictures have turned out. This travel diary is a very special and personal one, the title says Solo, but I was not alone. I was very curious about my partial ‘roots’ and lovely family members that I never or haven’t seen in the last 20 years. I went to see them on my own in Istanbul. After the sudden death of my grandfather in early 2019, which I was actually going to see in real life for the first time this year (we had facetime contact every now and then, telephone contact and he spoke Dutch), I decided to fly to Istanbul during my vacation, less than half a day after I came back from Valencia, from Eindhoven airport.
