This morning – day 8 – I flew back to CTG with Avianca. I wanted to be back early for my KLM friend Ilona. She had requested a layover to go on the road with me. We decided to go to Movich hotel together to see the nice view in Cartagena. The weather was very disappointing today and there was massive flooding on the street. After some pictures at Movich, we went for lunch somewhere in the old center. We couldn’t go anywhere because of the weather! In the end we went for a drink at Townhouse Rooftop β a nice place I’ve been to before. [Lees meer…]
In this blog post I will tell you about my solo trip experience in Medellin – Colombia. Formerly known as quite a ‘unsafe’ place in the world and nowdays completely different and absolutely amazing! I would like to tell you how I experienced this place in this post. I do want to reveal that I soon regretted having only stayed here for a 3 day trip! [Lees meer…]
Hi everyone! My solo trip to Colombia was really fantastic. During my trip to Mexico, I got inspired by others to take this Colombia trip. I regularly saw cool things from Cartagena on social media and from others, so decided to plan this trip. I am a down to earth person who is not easily scared, but when I found out that I would arrive at my destination in the dark, I got really scared. Especially after I read that it is best not to walk around in the dark on your own, let alone with beautiful jewelry, your phone or other expensive things. I would like to tell you how this journey went in these posts. Long story short – It was fantastic! [Lees meer…]
Hello everyone! Great that you are reading my second part of my solo Mexico travel diary. This post is extra long because I didn’t want to split it into two more parts. So I would say, take your time with this! haha. I try to describe my diaries extensively, but some things are left out and I also find it unnecessary to share. Moreover, otherwise the text becomes too long, and I try to describe it broadly. During my travels, I also try to keep a general diary here and there in order to expand this later with the photos. I will continue this second part in Tulum. I would like to take you with me in this sequel! Full of tips and experiences. [Lees meer…]
In this travel post I will take you on a solo trip to Mexico, where I will share my experiences and tips extensively, as in a diary. I don’t want to give too much away yet, but to start with how I experienced the whole trip: As one of the most beautiful trips I’ve ever made. Way beyond my expectations. Especially because of the special people and unexpected fun things that I got on my path. This journey literally felt like a pink cloud – pure happiness, great gratitude, euphoria and peace. I am extremely grateful to be able to do these beautiful things in my life and am certainly aware of this privilege. I am grateful that I can give myself solo travel as a gift, and will continue to do so. I hope these travel diaries might inspire you to go on a solo trip yourself. If not, I hope it is at least a fun activity to take you on this 11 day solo adventure. With a big smile on my face, I start this travel diary. Even if nobody would read it, so to speak, I just like to have everything worked out for myself and to be able to share it. I always get that feeling from back then (and a certain homesickness) when I read or type this. My posts are like a kind of public diary. Of course I always write it out in broad outline, otherwise it is really too much to read. [Lees meer…]
