Greece Travel diary | 4 day holiday to Zakynthos

I can’t believe how fast time goes. Zakynthos has been seriously almost 2-3 months since I post this (Early September)! I will already tell you that Zakynthos is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in Europe and I highly recommend it! The flight distance is around 2.5 hours, so also quite close. This trip was a total of 4 days. You can do a lot more in such a short time than you might think. I like to go on an adventure or discovery. A complete “beach vacation” or “party vacation” is not for an adventurous and curious person like me. So I have to tell you that I really can’t spend whole days just lying on a beach. I prefer to travel (around the island (with or without a plan) with a car), sightseeing, discovering a nice new city and old streets, eating and drinking deliciously, trying local food, drinking coffee on terraces, taking lots of pictures with my camera, exploring the local culture of a place (for example, my Japan trips), visit viewpoints over the city or landscapes, get to know new people from all over the world, see beautiful places, do lots of cycling and walking, or on adventure/discovery… you name it. In between all the Alicante and other travel posts, here’s a throwback outfit post from my Zakynthos trip from last September. I got a lot of positive reactions from you ladies about this set, and I collected all the photos I could find from my upcoming travel post and processed them in a separate outfit post. This dreamy set is fantastic for a fun summer trip to an island like Zakynthos, Ibiza, Curaçao, you name it! I think it’s so cute and it’s lovely to wear with high temperatures. Hellooooo, welcome back to my blog, or welcome if you’re new! To get straight to the point; I think I haven’t worn this dress for an hour in the heat of Zakynthos. I had to take pictures of this cool outfit. I’ve had this dress hanging at home for at least one or a one and a half years, and I really wanted to photograph it on vacation. All outfits on my blog are also complete outfits that I actually wear and have worn on a trip. But I wore this purely for the photo because I no longer had the opportunity on vacation to wear it for dinner. I did intend to wear it when Iris and I went out to dinner, so I would honestly wear it too! But I didn’t have the chance because of our busy schedule in Greece. We didn’t come back to the hotel in between to change. So it was on and off with this nice outfit unfortunately. And oh, there are a lot of Zakynthos posts coming up! Greece travel diary | Last minute trip to Athens

2 weeks ago I went to Athens with a friend. Our original plan was to go to a different location, but those plans became different last minute. We rebooked everything shortly before the original flight would leave, to a flight to Athens. At the airport we looked at the list of flights that we could book and that would be the first to go to a warm destination. ‘What kind of luggage do we have with us?’ – ‘Only summer clothes’ ‘So, we’ll book the first warm destination that we can book, because why not’. Kalimera! Previous week was a great week. I have been on two trips and am now back at (my lovely) work. Where I am standing here is near the Acropolis in Athens. I planned to go to Tel Aviv with a friend, but ultra last minute, our plans changed and we rebooked the trip at the airport to Athens. The flight to Athens would leave that same day in the afternoon. We wanted to go to something warm, haha. Athens is such a nice city! I had a great time together with my friend for 4 days and I have done many nice things. The weather was lovely and I have been able to wear all kinds of new summer dresses that were too cold for the Netherlands.  [Lees meer…]

Greece Travel Diary | 6 day Rhodes holiday

One of my best friends – Anne-Sophie and I really wanted to go on a holiday. We were very late with booking something, which made our wish for either Albufeira, Porto or Valencia too hard to book. When we nearly gave up on fixing a trip for this time of the year so late, we saw a last minute trip to Rhodos.  The trip was 6 days in total, which we had 4 to spend in Greece of because 2 were for the flights and things related to it. That same evening, we booked. I have been to a – in my opinion – very beautiful place at Rhodes island in Greece during my stay, it is called ‘Kalithea springs’. The place has beautiful architecture, a great beachclub and beach place when you end up when you walk through the springs. In my opinion it looked like a little paradise on earth. The color is soft and feminine which fits the floral details. This is the outfit I wore during the last night my friend Anne-Sophie and me were in Rhodos. When we went to a Taverna (where some of the employees spoke Dutch btw) for Greek Diner (close to the hotel) – I decided to put on my new and detailed dress.
