Hi everyone! Best wishes for 2020! The holidays are over so quickly. This year I had the luxury of being off during Christmas (exept on Christas eve) after a long Canarian flight on Christmas Eve. And I was called out of standby for an Canarian flight during the last day of 2019, which allowed me to celebrate New Years Eve at home on the couch with my parents. Less than 2 weeks left and then it’s Christmas. Time flies! This entire week, the last of my “peak / off-peak” period, was incredibly fun. I have done super nice things this whole week, especially with work friends. Japan travel diary | 2019 Solo trip to Japan part 3

I cropped this last part of my 14 day trip into one post as I haven’t taken many photos in the last few days there. This is day 9 to 14. One of the last days I heard from a KLM flight attendant that my standby travel flight was as good as full, so I booked an extra night in my hostel in Tokyo and converted the KLM IPB flight to a new one day later. This day I went to Kyoto again from Osaka, this time with Yuka. Osaka and Kyoto are not long apart by public transport, I believe half an hour, so no other hostel was needed. Japan travel diary | 2019 Solo trip to Japan part 1

In November, I went to Japan for 14 days. Just like I did in 2018, I went solo. I had booked the direct KLM flights via crew standby travel. After a flight of 10.5 hours in total, I left to the city the same way as last year, with the Narita express – a direct train connection to central Tokyo at Narita Airport station. The price of a return trip is 4000 yen (around 28 euros) – For the standby/crew members among us, you can also use the return ticket for another day, in case your plans change within 14 days. Hi everyone! Japan was really a wonderful solo trip. I experienced so many great things, got wonderful new memories and met many people. I will place a lot of travel diaries from my last 3 trips soon. Where I stand here is on a high viewpoint in Shibuya. I am really happy with how the pictures have turned out. Portugal Travel Diary | 4 day Lisbon girls trip

At the end of October I had been to Lisbon with a friend from my former study International Business (IBS). We were planning to visit a friend of ours who is studying there for a few months. Yanneke and I flew (standby) to Lisbon. This 4 day trip is for me number 4 of 2019 and my 3rd time in Lisbon. As I have said in many posts, Lisbon is my favorite city trip destination in Europe so far. The many colorful streets with sweet little restaurants keep surprising me. The follow up cities are Valencia and Porto for me. In 2015 I went there as a study trip (and during that time, my “cabin crew dreams” started). In 2017 I went there solo. [Lees meer…]
