Mexico travel diary | one month solo in Mexico part 2

This morning on November 22 started with an extensive brunch with Cyni at Ki’bok coffee in La Veleta – next to Tulum jungle gym, where I went with my rented bike from my hostel. I have to tell you that I reach almost everything here in Mexico within the villages by bicycle. We ate divinely delicious chilaquiles at this place – which I definitely want to come back for! After lunch we would go with Cyni’s friends to Vagalume, where they also allowed me to enter without an entrance fee and without a minimum spend. Via google maps I followed my way on my bike alone through quite remote roads and I have to tell you that I found that the only time I didn’t feel safe – and that during the day! In the end I suffered on the beach with Cyni’s dear friends – Vagalume is a cool high-end beach club that is known for the ‘hands’ that many people take pictures with. Mexico travel diary | one month solo in Mexico part 1

On November 17th, I left for Mexico for the 2nd time in a year. This is the ‘official’ 8th trip of this year. This first part is in Playa del Carmen, Holbox and Tulum – the first part of my journey. The reason why I would go for more than a month is because I wanted to bridge the winter in the Netherlands during my annual leave, I wanted to go back to dear friends who live there, I wanted to travel solo again and because my (now former) long-distance love lived in Tulum and I had met there earlier this year – which was originally my biggest reason to stay this long. In this travel diary I explain to you like a diary what I have done and visited during this trip, together with tips. Hi everyone! Another one of my favorite outfits of the moment between the travel posts. This nice red set is super classy and actually nice all year round. It looks like a mini skirt, but it’s actually a pair of pants. As can often be seen in my outfit posts – red is my favorite color. I always feel most confident when I wear red! Colombia travel diary | solo trip to Colombia part 3

This morning – day 8 – I flew back to CTG with Avianca. I wanted to be back early for my KLM friend Ilona. She had requested a layover to go on the road with me. We decided to go to Movich hotel together to see the nice view in Cartagena. The weather was very disappointing today and there was massive flooding on the street. After some pictures at Movich, we went for lunch somewhere in the old center. We couldn’t go anywhere because of the weather! A month ago I came back from Mexico. What a journey this was! A very emotional one, but also one that has helped me grow a lot and one where I have met a lot of great people. The beautiful place where I took these photos is on the island of Isla Holbox at beach club Zomay. I’ve had this dress for years and I really wear it in a lot of summer places.
