I wear this outfit really much lately. I can wear it in a variety of ways. The gorgeous belt completes this outfit for me, but a belt makes the the dress appear shorter than it is. I like wearing it for having a drink with friends, party, clubbing, lunch or blogger event. Without the belt and with a pair of elegant high heels, I would wear it for a (fancy) dinner. Anyways, this is one of my favorite outfits during this autumn/winter. I always wear lots of colors as you may have noticed, but an all black outfit like this is never wrong – love it!

POV: You spent your 20s in beauty competitions.

People see the gowns, the crowns, the photos and the stage.

What they don’t see are the early mornings, the self-doubt, the courage it takes to keep showing up, and the growth that happens long after the spotlight fades.

My twenties taught me that beauty competitions were never really about beauty.

They were about finding my voice.
About learning confidence.
About standing on a stage when I was terrified.
About representing causes I care about.
About inspiring others to embrace who they are.

I had the honor of competing in:

✨ Miss World
✨ Miss Universe
✨ Miss Grand International
✨ Miss Cosmo
✨ Miss International (selected to represent the Netherlands internationally, later cancelled due to COVID)

The titles were never the biggest reward.

The friendships, lessons, resilience, opportunities, and the woman I became along the way will always mean more than any crown ever could.

To the younger version of me who dreamed of standing on those stages: we did it. 💫

Gone (solo) travelling 😜

One day they’ll look for the version of you that was always there.

The version they took for granted.

And by then, you’ll be gone.

What’s the hardest lesson something taught you without meaning to?

Beautiful villa @villa_hunab_ku 🌴

One day I realized:

I wasn’t afraid of being and travelling alone.

I was afraid of losing my life while waiting for someone else.

So I booked the flight. ✈️

What’s something you’ve been waiting for?

Based on facts 🌴✈️ Can you relate?

"What do you like to do for fun?"

Leave the country.

New places, new people, new stories.
Every single time.

At what point does it stop being a hobby and become a personality trait? 😂

Guatemala, one of the most heartwarming places I’ve experienced so far. A destination that still crosses my mind almost daily. And now in my top 5 favorites.

After being lucky enough to solo travel to so many beautiful places around the world, Guatemala instantly became one of the places that touched me the most.

The people, the atmosphere, the volcanoes, Lake Atitlán, the coffee, the food, UNESCO Antigua… this country has a soul that is difficult to describe unless you’ve experienced it yourself.

I met beautiful humans I still speak to from time to time, and I’m grateful to now call some incredible Guatemalans my friends.

I travelled here with my new camera, and I’m so thankful I was able to capture parts of this beautiful country through my own eyes, while also collaborating with amazing companies along the way.

I remember my eyes being teary while being on a boat at Lake Atitlan, and the moment I saw the Volcano erupt during the hike - one of the most challenging things I have ever done.

Some places impress you.
Others stay with you.
Guatemala did both. 🌋🇬🇹

Wait for the end! ✈️
Some women wait for love to start living.
I booked the ticket anyway.

Some of the most beautiful moments of my life happened because I stopped waiting, for permission, for certainty, for someone to come with me.

Solo travelling taught me that freedom can be lonely sometimes, but also deeply empowering. It gave me sunsets in countries I once only dreamed about, strangers that became memories, confidence I never learned at home, and versions of myself I would’ve never met if I stayed safe.

I may not have everything figured out yet, but I’ve lived. Deeply. Wildly. Internationally.
And honestly? That already makes me rich in life.

I know it’s not a possibility for every woman in the world to do this. Something travel also showed me over and over again.
