Spain Travel Diary | 4 day Marbella weekend

Hi everyone and welcome back to a new travel blog! A month after the last trip to Marbella, I flew back to my friend Joelle. Because I have reduced priced tickets thanks to my job as a flight attendant and can stay at Joelle’s place, traveling on short notice isn’t a major hurdle. I am incredibly blessed to know many beautiful souls around the world who give me these opportunities. This time I wasn’t planning to stay as long either, because Joelle is very busy and works a lot, but despite that, I was really looking forward to going back.

Hi allemaal en weer welkom terug bij een nieuwe reisblog! Ik ben, een maand na de vorige Marbella reis – terug gevlogen naar mijn vriendin Joelle. Omdat ik goedkopere tickets heb door mijn werk als stewardess én bij Joelle kan slapen, is het ook geen grote financiële drempel om op korte termijn te reizen. Ik ben ontzettend gezegend dat ik veel mooie zielen over de wereld ken die mij deze kansen geven. Dit keer zou ik ook niet zo lang blijven omdat Joelle erg druk is en veel werkt, maar desondanks had ik super veel zin om te gaan.

Dag 1 – Eindhoven Airport & Marbella – 22-5-2026

After a flight of just under 3 hours, and a 40-minute bus ride from Malaga airport (tip: this bus is easy to find right in front of the terminal and can be booked for a few euros via Avanza) – where I also happened to stand next to someone I know from Tulum who lives in Paris (!) – I took a taxi straight to Chambao, where I was going to see Joelle and Rits for the informal opening party of the summer season. Here we had some champagne, chatted a bit, and went back home. Later, Joelle and I also spent some time at the beautiful Marbella Club Hotel, a lovely place I definitely recommend you visit!

Na een vlucht van iets minder dan 3 uur, en een busreis van 40 minuten vanaf Malaga airport (tip: deze bus is makkelijk te vinden recht voor de terminal en te boeken voor een paar euro via Avanza) – waar ik toevallig ook nog eens naast iemand stond die ik uit Tulum ken en in Parijs woont (!) – nam ik direct de taxi naar Chambao – waar ik Joelle en Rits zou zien voor het vrijblijvende openingsfeest van het zomerseizoen. Hier hadden we wat champagne, kletste wat en gingen terug naar huis. Later hebben Joelle en ik ook nog wat tijd doorgebracht bij het mooie Marbella Club Hotel, een mooie plek die ik jullie zeker aanraad om te bezoeken!

Dag 2 – Marbella – 23-5-2026

Joelle was busy with work today, so it was up to me to keep myself occupied for a bit. As you know me, that’s no problem. I walked to Forum – one of my favorite spots in Marbella – for breakfast. Delicious coffee from Koffi Club and a cinnamon bun from the Swedish bakery Nybakar. The people who work at all these places are super sweet, so it was nice to have a chat with them!

In the afternoon, I had a cappuccino with Joelle’s colleague and friend Carlos while we waited for her, and eventually had lunch on the other side of town at an amazing little place called ‘The Cult’ with the best tea I have ever drunk.

After we ate Peruvian food in Old Town and took lots of photos on the beach, we went out to Momento – a famous club in Marbella where we went last time as well.

A fun, productive day!

Joelle was vandaag druk met werk, dus was het aan mij mijzelf eventjes bezig te houden. Zoals jullie me kennen is dat geen probleem. Ik wandelde naar Forum – een van mijn lievelingsplekken in Marbella, voor een ontbijt. Heerlijke koffie van Koffi Club en een kaneelbroodje van de Zweedse bakker Nybakar. De mensen die bij al deze plekken werken zijn super lief, dus leuk om een praatje mee te maken!

In de middag dronk ik een cappuccino met Joelle’s collega en vriend Carlos waar we op haar wachtte, en hadden uiteindelijk lunch aan de andere kant van de stad bij een geweldig zaakje genaamd ‘The Cult’ met de lekkerste thee die ik ooit heb gedonken.

Na we in old town peruviaans aten en veel foto’s maakte op het strand, gingen we op stap naar Momento – een bekende club in Marbella waar we de vorige keer ook zijn geweest.

Een leuk productieve dag!

Dag 3 – Marbella – 24-5-2026

This Sunday, I was invited to a collaboration and special guest lunch at Frou Frou, a luxury restaurant in Marbella that also looks super nice. We had three courses and two drinks. It started with a delicious carpaccio salad; for the main course, I had carbonara, and for dessert, we had ice cream. It was delicious and so much fun to be able to participate. Our friend Simone and Nina also joined us for this lunch later on. It was great to see these girls again.

Eventually, Joelle and I also had dinner on the beach at Paradise Beach later that day, and then drove on to Playa Padre for a few hours of partying during the day; it was really nice to end the day here spontaneously! We closed the day with a coffee at the Marbella Club Hotel.

I am so grateful for all these cool opportunities and spontaneous activities!

Deze zondag was ik uitgenodigd voor een collaboration en special guest lunch bij Frou Frou, een luxe restaurant in Marbella die er ook nog eens super leuk uit ziet. We kregen 3 gangen en 2 drankjes. Het begon met een héérlijke carpaccio salade, als hoofdgerecht had ik carbonara, en als toetje hadden we ijs. Héérlijk en super leuk te hebben mogen deelnemen, Onze vriendin Simone en Nina sloten ook later gezellig bij ons aan deze lunch. Het was super leuk deze meiden weer te zien.

Uiteindelijk aten Joelle en ik later die dag ook nog op het strand bij Paradise Beach, en reden daarna door naar Playa Padre voor een paar uur feest overdag, heel leuk om hier spontaan te eindigen! We sloten de dag af met een koffietje bij Marbella Club hotel.

Ik ben zo dankbaar voor al deze gave kansen en spontane activiteiten!

Dag 4 – Marbella – 25-5-2026

After breakfast at Forum again with Joelle – who had to go back to work – I spent some more time in the city on my own. It was the day to fly back, looking back on a nice weekend. In the evening, I flew back to Eindhoven.

Na een ontbijtje opnieuw bij Forum met Joelle – die weer moest werken, heb ik nog wat tijd doorgebracht in de stad in mijn eentje. Het was namelijk de dag om weer terug te vliegen, terugkijkend op een leuk weekend. In de avond vloog ik weer terug naar Eindhoven.

Looking back, this was another weekend filled with beautiful memories, wonderful people, and spontaneous moments. I’m incredibly grateful that my job as a flight attendant gives me access to reduced-fare tickets, making these short trips much more accessible. Combined with the kindness and hospitality of friends around the world, it allows me to keep exploring, even if it’s only for a few days at a time.

Terugkijkend was dit opnieuw een weekend vol mooie herinneringen, fijne mensen en spontane momenten. Ik ben ontzettend dankbaar dat mijn werk als stewardess mij de mogelijkheid geeft om met voordelige tickets op korte termijn op reis te gaan. In combinatie met de gastvrijheid van vrienden over de hele wereld kan ik daardoor blijven ontdekken, al is het soms maar voor een paar dagen.
