Photoshoot Report | Portrait portfolio shoots

Hi everyone! It was time for another nice portfolio post. I am now already at 2 agencies and I am going to register with the Chamber of Commerce to be able to do more as a freelancer. It has been a bit quieter in terms of shoots lately because winter is the most quiet period in terms of shoots. The bridal season will start again in spring, so I have quite a few things planned for March and April as well. The upcoming shoots are not collaborations / portfolio shoots, but assignments again. Hopefully it will all continue!

Last January I did a very cool portfolio shoot with flying colleague Ferdy Francis in his studio in Houten. This was a shoot as a ‘collab’ and for the portfolio of both. Ferdy has a variety of content and is, in my opinion, a creative all-rounder when it comes to photography. A lot of the photos are, besides in his studio, taken in an empty club with a lot of mirrors around me. Super cool idea and cool setup too! I have received a lot of photos, but in this post you can see my favorites. I decided to do my own make-up in both shoots and to go for a more ‘natural’ look. The shoot was super fun and pretty close from my home too.

Hi allemaal! Het was weer tijd voor een leuke portfolio post. Inmiddels zit ik al bij 2 bureaus en ga ik mij inschrijven bij KVK om ook meer te kunnen als freelancer. Het is de afgelopen tijd wat rustiger geweest qua shoots omdat dat de winter de meest rustige periode is qua shoots. A.s lente begint het bruidsseizoen weer, dus ik heb ook behoorlijk wat op de planning staan voor maart en april. De a.s shoots betreffen geen samenwerkingen/portfolioshoots, maar weer opdrachten. Hopelijk gaat het allemaal door! Zin in in ieder geval.

Afgelopen Januari heb ik een hele toffe portfolio shoot gedaan met vliegende collega Ferdy Francis in zijn studio in Houten. Dit was een shoot als ‘collab’ en voor het portfolio van beide. Ferdy heeft een variatie aan content en is als het ware in mijn mening een creatieve alleskunner als het aankomt op fotografie. Een groot deel van de foto’s zijn naast de studio ruimte, gemaakt in een lege club met een hoop spiegels om me heen. Super gaaf idee en gave opzet ook! Ik heb een hoop foto’s mogen ontvangen, maar in deze post zie je mijn favorieten. Ik besloot in beide shoots mijn eigen make-up te verzorgen en een wat ‘naturellere’ look te kiezen. De shoot was super leuk en ook vrij dichtbij.

Last January I also did a nice portfolio shoot at Voorde camera – Shelena van der Voorde at home. We already knew each other from an incredibly nice portfolio shoot by a makeup artist in 2020, when I had just become a Miss World Netherlands finalist. We had a nice long chat and laughed a lot with this shoot. Shelena is also very nice to deal with and knows how to put you at ease. We wanted to try a slightly more artistic theme and something different from my normal photos. This also turned out very cool during the shoot with Ferdy.

Afgelopen Januari heb ik ook een mooie portfolio shoot thuis bij Voorde camera – Shelena van der Voorde gedaan. We kenden elkaar al van een onwijs leuke portfolio shoot van een visagiste in 2020, toen ik net Miss World Nederland finaliste was geworden. We hebben gezellig lang gekletst en veel gelachen met deze shoot. Shelena is óók onwijs fijn in omgang en weet je erg op je gemak te stellen. We wilden een wat artistieker thema uitproberen en wat anders dan mijn normale foto’s. Dit is bij de shoot met Ferdy ook heel gaaf geworden.
