Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last wrote a flight attendant post. I thought it would be fun to make one again, especially now that I’ve had two nice ‘layovers’. I created this post for all flight attendants-to-be, or people who are simply very interested in taking a look ‘in the kitchen’ of life in aviation. With my airline you hardly ever stay in another place, because we mainly only do ‘turnarounds’ (at least, especially in my case as someone who is Eindhoven based), but recently we fly from Brussels Airport. I really enjoy staying in a different place occasionally for my work. This year I also loved this during my modeling assignments back in spring, when I often stayed in a hotel with a nice group of girls. In a short time I had two layovers and I personally really liked that. I had a short one night layover from my standby, then about two weeks later a 3 night layover scheduled on my roster. In this post I’ll show you what we’ve been up to on these stops. Despite being not far from home in principle, I had never been to Brussels before. [Read more…]
When I drive past Schiphol in the early morning, or late at night after Miss World, and see the illuminated runways, I still feel those butterflies in my stomach. Schiphol is a magical place that I have admired since my childhood. A gateway to new adventures and special stories, I always wanted to be a part of that. As cliché as it may sound, “the sky is my home”. From an early age I already felt an enormous connection with aviation. And who follows his/her heart often gets where he/she belongs. [Read more…]
Welcome to my first layover diary and my second Stewardess post! As I have told in my other post, my work is my passion and I like to share some nice things about it. About a week and a half ago I was allowed to go to Dubai for 3 days with a nice crew, flying from Amsterdam. I already knew the cabin crew colleagues from Eindhoven and Amsterdam, so that was of course extra fun. Dubai had long been on my wish list. The airline where I work for mainly has ‘turnarounds’, so a layover is of course a very nice extra for a lot of people. Many people certainly look forward to it like me. Previous September I also had a nice layover in the city of Groningen. [Read more…]
Hi everyone! This is a special post that I have dedicated to my dream job – Stewardess. I have now been flying for about 2 years and I already have a permanent contract. Because I love my work, I have added some of my favorite photos from the past (3) flying seasons in this post. [Read more…]
2 weeks ago I went to Athens with a friend. Our original plan was to go to a different location, but those plans became different last minute. We rebooked everything shortly before the original flight would leave, to a flight to Athens. At the airport we looked at the list of flights that we could book and that would be the first to go to a warm destination. ‘What kind of luggage do we have with us?’ – ‘Only summer clothes’ ‘So, we’ll book the first warm destination that we can book, because why not’. I had 5 days off at work as a flight attendant and once again I wanted to take the opportunity to travel.
One of my friends was working abroad again for a couple of months so I decided to plan a mini trip on my own to visit her at Palma de Mallorca – so technically this is, just like my trip to Lanzarote to that same friend, not a completely solo trip. [Read more…]
