Welcome to my first layover diary and my second Stewardess post! As I have told in my other post, my work is my passion and I like to share some nice things about it. About a week and a half ago I was allowed to go to Dubai for 3 days with a nice crew from Amsterdam. I already knew my cabin crew colleagues from Eindhoven and Amsterdam, so that was of course extra fun. Dubai had long been on my wish list. The airline where I work mainly has ‘turnarounds’ so a ‘stop’ is of course a very nice extra for a lot of people and many people certainly live up to it like me. 2 weeks ago I went to Athens with a friend. Our original plan was to go to a different location, but those plans became different last minute. We rebooked everything shortly before the original flight would leave, to a flight to Athens. At the airport we looked at the list of flights that we could book and that would be the first to go to a warm destination. ‘What kind of luggage do we have with us?’ – ‘Only summer clothes’ ‘So, we’ll book the first warm destination that we can book, because why not’. I had 5 days off at work as a flight attendant and once again I wanted to take the opportunity to travel.
One of my friends was working abroad again for a couple of months so I decided to plan a mini trip on my own to visit her at Palma de Mallorca – so technically this is, just like my trip to Lanzarote to that same friend, not a completely solo trip. [Read more…]
